8 Social Media Strategies to Attract New Customers

Ok, so you’ve come to this site because you want more clients and you’re wondering if Social Media Marketing will work for you to accomplish that goal.  Well the answer is yes or….maybe not…it depends.  Social Media takes time – not a lot of time – but it does take time to do it right.

Let me start with the end result in mind.  What is it that you want?………

I’m waiting……  let me help.  Are you looking for friends? NO!

How ’bout a bowling partner?  NO & HELL NO!

You know what you really want!  Green backs, cash, payola, MONEY!! Am I right?  Come on don’t be shy….you know I’m right; that’s why you’re in business and that’s the only way you will stay in business.

But now comes the catch; to make the almighty dollar you need those pesky little things we like to call customers, clients, buyers……PEOPLE! Yes, other people will actually pay us what we want IF we give them what they want.

For people to buy we have to be in a position to influence them to make the purchase. Influence however doesn’t just grow on trees.  Influence has to be cultivated.

We cultivate influence by building relationships over time.  You can’t build a relationship with a turnip.  Why? Because it can’t engage in a conversation! Duh!

So to build the relationship we have to engage with people; have a conversation; get to know them, find out what they need and want and desire and if they’re cute, their name and phone number…but I digress!

Now what do you need to enter into a conversation with someone?

A client walks through the door of your shop.  You approach with your best “plastic fantastic” smile plastered on your face and inquire, “How may I assist you?” all the time knowing what the next words out of their mouths will be, “JUST LOOKING YOU JERK!” (“you jerk” is implied and seldom said out loud but you know  THEY’RE THINKING IT!)

So why does this scenario play out over and over and over “ad infinitum” in your life? BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T HAVE PERMISSION TO ENGAGE THEM IN A CONVERSA- TION.  So I guess you’ve guessed the next step; GET THEIR PERMISSION!

But before we can get their permission we have to have done something to GET THEIR ATTENTION! If you haven’t done anything to get their attention you’ll be sitting in your nice little shop with all your pretty little things and it’ll just be you and them FOREVER!  So SNAP OUT OF IT and do SOMETHING to get their attention.  ”And what might that be?”, you ask.  Well I’ll tell you.  (like I brought you all this way to not tell you the secret ingredient, right?)  YOU NEED CONTENT!

Usable content draws customers like a magnet.  Which leads us to the single most important ingredient in this whole “cake” we’re baking to attract more customers & that is SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING, as if you didn’t know.

This is where we’re going to develop that great magnetic content that draws new customers like flies to our sweet little cake!  The ingredients include, Social Marketing on FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Videos on YouTube, our blog and blog posts, articles to distribute throughout the net, pod casts on iTunes, doing due diligence with keywords & SEO and more.  So here it is in order to get to what you want:

2) This will get your prospective clients attention

3) When you have their attention they’ll “opt-in” (give you permission) to….

4) Engage them more directly with your offers

5) Once engaged you keep feeding them great content & offering “free” help and build a relationship

6) Once you’ve built a relationship and they trust you, you’ll then have some influence in their lives.

7) Once you have the influence their ready to take your recommendation and trade their hard earned cash for your service. AND NOW YOU HAVE WHAT YOU STARTED OUT WANTING – MONEY & FREEDOM!

8) You also have something else you weren’t looking for in the beginning – friends for life that you continue to influence to buy more from you over time and they WILL tell others.
