I’ve reviewed in the past how to use the Paid Post advertising option. When you post you now have the option to target more specifically to a segment of your audience. Well Facebook has expanded that capability… or will be!
I say will be because I’ve seen articles on this that make it sound like it’s already here and it may be for some but I’m not seeing it yet on my pages. That said, I’m sure it’s coming to a page near you so just check your page to see if it’s showing up yet. I don’t believe you have to use the paid post option to use these new post targeting features. Here’s what you should see:
This expands the targeting capability to include:
- interested in
- relationship status
- location (country, state, city)]
If you have a broad demographic representation in your “likes”, this will allow you to market demographic sensitive products to just that audience. For example, if you’re selling back to school items, you could target age 18-22 in whatever region you want.
If you have over 400 “likes”, I encourage you to starting testing the paid post feature. I’ve seen double to triple the normal views when I’ve used it giving me more opportunities to sell my products.
