Blog On FaceBook? 5 Steps To Auto-Feed Your Blog To FaceBook Notes.

website-on-facebookIf you’ve ever wondered if you could auto-feed your blog to FaceBook, the answer is YES!  Here’s how to go about setting it up:

1) Log into your FaceBook account, navigate to your Business Fan Page, look in the upper right hand corner and click “Edit Page”.

2)  Now look in the left and column, go down and click on Apps

3) In the list of Apps you should see “Notes”; click on “Go to App

4) Then look in the left hand column under your Avatar, find “Edit import settings” and click on it.

5) This should have taken you to “Import an External Blog” box.  Now go down to “Web URL” and put in the URL of your RSS feed from your blog.  (The easiest way to get that is go to your blog home page, somewhere you should see and RSS feed icon, click on it and then go the top of the page and copy the URL.  Then past the URL in the box.)  After you’ve done that, check the little authorization box and then “Start Importing” and VOLIA’ YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY SET UP YOUR BLOG TO AUTO-STREAM TO YOUR FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE….HOW COOL IS THAT?! :)

If you have a LinkedIn account, you can steam your WordPress blog as well with their App.  More on that later.

Using the new March 2012 Timeline FB layout I don’t have step #5, Import an External Blog, choice available on the left of page. Last option is ‘Notes About Me’. This is where I keep getting stuck…no option given to import a blog URL. Any revised advice? Thanks.

Unfortunately with Facebook’s new change to Timeline these techniques no longer work. Right now the only ways I’m aware of are:
      1) Go to http://apps.facebook.com/rssgraffiti/ and set it up to feed on your page as an app. (They’re having problems with this app so it may or may not work)
      2) Use Hootsuite to feed your blog post
      3) In my opinion the best way is write a post on you page then attach the URL of your post as a link (just copy and paste it into the post.) You can make it stand out in a crowd by creating a nice graphic thumbnail for you post and upload it your WordPress blog page. Then add the image to your post and click “gallery” also save the image as “featured image”. Now when you attach the URL as a link to your post on your FB page you’ll see the image as well as an excerpt.

      Hope that helps – Roger
